We have all noticed the green, blue and black swirl on packs of coffee packages, chocolate bars, cotton products and fresh fruit and veg in our supermarkets. And hopefully we all consider these options when buying groceries.
It is quite easy to visualise the benefit of buying sug
ar peas in your supermarket, and the economic benefits winding its way down the line to provide farmers and labourers in Zambia a secure and basic means of living. It may seem a small and insignificant step, but for people who are surviving on less than 50p a day.... your choice to shift to Fair Trade produce will make a difference.

I have found this great site for customised travel to Southern Africa. It is run by two guys who fully understand the tourism market and the situation in southern Africa.
Mud Hut Travel is a great place for anyone wanting something different from a holiday. They are particularly aware of the effect that there actions are having on the communities that they send clients to.
It's really easy - fill out a easy form telling them your brief request, and they will organise a fantastic customised holiday to southern Africa, for you, your friends and your family. Here is an ida of what they can do... sample itineraries.

....and then get another
You may already have an email address at one of the free services like Google, Yahoo or Hotmail, but let me give you an important bit of advice. Get a new one.... preferably with a different provider - just sign up through one of the links above.
I have found over the last few weeks that I have been signing up for newsletters, registering for software products, blog accounts, widgets (will explain these next week) etc.... and it clogs up your personal inbox. Yes, you may be able to sort your email into different folders depending on your provider, but it is good to be able to keep all your businesses separate.

Yesterday I was chatting to someone I had just met and we were exchanging pleasant small talk. We spoke about where we were from, our families (I saw another baby photo that looked exactly like the last 47), he asked what I was doing, and I told him about The Wealth Dream.
Previously I could tell people that I worked in the finance section of a small sports media company. That used to stop any further questions in their tracks - accountants are boring people and do stuff that noone understands. If someone did understand it, they would probably be an accountant themselves so imagine a doubly boring conversation.
However, as a self employed entrepreneur, educator and small scale tree hugger I seem to get a few more questions. And its really difficult to answer properly.

Cheap, easy, efficient, user friendly and powerful.
Perhaps there is a misconception that blogs are only for teenagers expressing their growing pains through an online platform, or for Sally the spinster talking about her best friend Tiddles the cat. Unfortunately many people don't see it as a way in which to make serious money.
(to paraphrase Wikipedia) A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.

Memorable.... I wanted my first word on this path to be memorable and now it is.
Over the next few articles I will outline who I am, where I am now, where I would like to be and what I want to do once I get there. Most importantly I am going to invite you to join me on this journey of discovering how to gain financial independence through the internet.
I don't want to try and explain everything in my first post, but I think its important to put down some honest truths.
